Make It So: Nicolas Cage Hot Toys Multi-Character Figure

If there’s one thing we geeks love to do, it’s wax theoretical on all the things that could’ve or should’ve been in regards to our favorite characters or properties. From an unseen final season to a never-produced line of action figures, we want them. Now. Make it So!

You love Nicolas Cage & want to have a figure for each of his amazing film roles but you don’t have enough room in your house to properly display so many great figures. Well Pop!ulation, in this edition of Make It So, I present the perfect fix to this Nick Cage problem that none of us should have to suffer through. I turn to the leader in high-end collectibles, Hot Toys, to plead my case for them to take the idea of a multi-character Nicolas Cage figure & Make it So!

If you are not familiar with the work of Hot Toys you are missing out, my good friends. Since 2000, Hot Toys have been honing their figure making skills while creating some of the best in top of the line, highly detailed & articulated figures with licensing deals from Aliens Vs. Predator to G.I. Joe Retaliation & from Inglorious Basterds all the way to The Avengers & other Marvel titles. My favorite line, hands down, is the Bruce Lee line which includes figures of Bruce not only in his iconic Enter the Dragon get up but also of him outside the film industry capturing his equally iconic flare & style. Other lines include Biohazard, Pirates of the Caribbean, Terminator, The Matrix, Star Wars & every thing Batman from Keaton to Bale.

They say that the Devil is in the details, so what better company is there to tackle the feat of creating the most epic figure of the man who has taken on the Devil twice in his movie career & lived to tell about? I bring this to Hot Toys for two reasons, the first being that the beauty in Hot Toys’ figures lies in the level of customization, detail & articulation. The second being that, because of those reasons, we are able to have a photo of Jack Nicholson & Heath Ledger in one of the most demented father/son portrait to exist on this Earth.

Each of their figures comes with at least 2-3 different sets of hands to perform different hand gestures or  holding weapons as well as alternate heads with variable facial expressions & a closet full of outfits like with their Heath Ledger Joker which has Joker’s regular suit along with his bank robber & cop outfits. On top of all of that greatness the heads in all of the Hot Toys figures features the Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) which lets the eyeballs move in sync with the head position giving more lifelike expressions.

By taking advantage of the endless possibilities of the figures wardrobe, creating an epic multi-character figure of the madman, Nicolas Cage, is a breeze. Most of Nicolas Cages’s characters are nothing more than a change in hair style & a shirt. Easy solution, you start off with a bald Nick Cage figure & build on top of that.

With endless wardrobe choices from Face/Off’s, Castor Troy equipped with his chest of toys & Travolta’s face, to Balthazar from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, you have it covered with just a change of clothes & hair piece. Change into this nice suite & go nuts with hair combinations that will turn Nick Cage from David Spritz in The Weather Man to Yuri Orlov in Lord of War. Hell, you can even add Edward Malus from The Wicker Man, Roy Waller from Matchstick Men, Jack Cambell from The Family Man & even Seth from City of Angels to that list. BAM!!! You can get like 10 different characters with one suit just by changing his hair style to match the role.

Put on this black Leather Jacket & he’s Ghost Rider but if you want to get Wild At Heart, have Cage put on this snakeskin leather jacket, who cares? Is it getting cold in here? Well, throw a sweater on him & now he’s Charlie Kaufman. If you want to play the tank top game, you can either go black for Bangkok Dangerous or stick to the classic white & enjoy a night on the town as Cameron Poe from Con Air.

You can go casual as John Koestler from Knowing or steal the Declaration of Independence as National Treasure’s Ben Gates.

As a bonus for getting in the Cage with the Collectors Edition, you will get a bonus “Not the Bees” head from The Wicker Man, a H.I.McDunnough head with wearable panty hose from Raising Arizona (classic) & the granddaddy of them all, a bonus Superman Lives costume!

The man who once owned dinosaur bones is showing no sign of slowing down with six announced films coming out over the next 2 years, so as long as Hot Toys continue to release wardrobe updates for all of the newest Cage hits, your epic figure will never go out of style. Just imagine it… all of the Nick Cage greats just a hair swap away! Make It So, Hot Toys… Make It So.
