Clean Slate: Dredd 3D Review

Welcome back to Clean Slate, the safe haven for all things deserving of a second chance. On this edition of Clean Slate, we stayed up late to hit the midnight showing of Dredd 3D to see if all the hype is true. Let me just put it this way, not since The Matrix has a movie raised the bar on the action genre, while at the same time, restored your faith in the dying breed of rated-R action flicks. From the start of the credits until the last words scroll off of the screen, Dredd 3D delivers a fast paced, adrenaline rush of nostalgic action in the vein of Robocop, Predator and Commando. This movie just may make mainstream of soft audiences piss themselves from the visual onslaught of 80′s-era firepower. This is not your Sly Stalone Dredd. Oh no, this is another beast all unto its own. Don’t believe me? Don’t trust my judgment or my taste in action flicks? Well, strap up rookie, and be prepared to be judged by the new law in town.

I loved this movie so friggin much, This is what I want in a comic movie, you don’t need an origin. Just go in, and have fun.
I know a lot of folks dog on 3d, this movie is MEANT to be seen in 3d, trust me on this.

  2. I’m more excited than I ever thought I’d be to see this. Peeping it Sunday… In 3d,no less.

I wasn’t going to try to see this ever, but now I will make an effort for the theater, definitely on DVD. I actually liked the Stallone flick, but I did hate the grossly overdone shoulders and bikes and everything. I like the looks of this and you say it’s worth it — I’m in.

  4. David Page says:

Sly Dredd was parody this Dredd is the real deal. This is as close to the comics as you’ll ever get.

  5. Ben Gilbert says:

I’m both highly intrigued to see this and quite surprised that it isn’t a bigger hit. I’m sure it’s doing much better in Britain, though, so hope for a sequel may not be completely lost.
