PoP! Top 6-Pack: Parody Twitter Feeds

Almost every single one of us at PanelsOnPages.com and in The PoP!ulation is all up on Twitter (ROB!?) and, besides following the many great members of our community, we can interact with comic creators and industry insiders like never before.  Twitter’s one of history’s greatest time-sucks, so there’s no reason not to have a little levity and goofing off to offset @RonMarz‘s daily Scooby-Doo villain-esque rants.  The “parody” Twitter account is one of the newest innovation in digital comedy, so check out these six PoP!-approved parody Twitters and follow them post haste!

1. @Uatu

What is Twitter if not a way to casually stalk strangers?  With Four Square, Get Glue, and Instagram, you know where everyone is, what they’re doing, and what they’re eating for lunch.  It’s as if Marvel‘s resident Watcher developed the social media site to make his job easier.  When he’s not watching you poop, @Uatu is relentlessly trolling Modok.

2. @God_Damn_Batman

He’s The @God_Damn_Batman, that’s why.  Considering his utility belt is filled with all kinds of sweet-ass gadgets, why wouldn’t The Dark Knight have a sweet-ass Android complete with a Twitter app for those long, boring, stakeouts?  Give him a follow, and see how the other side lives: rich as hell, straight bad-ass, taking joy in turning crooks’ skulls to dust and shattering sidekicks’ self-esteem.

3. @ZooeySiri

Y’know that awesome iPhone commercial with manic pixie dream girl Zooey Deschanel making some poor delivery boy bring her tomato soup in the rain?  This parody Twitter chronicles other whimsical and asinine things the New Girl star asks her smart phone.  Don’t blink, or you might confuse Zooey Ask Siri with the real @ZooeyDeschanel Twitter.

4. @DeathStarPR

Hey, the right-wing has Fox News, so why shouldn’t The Empire have a media machine to help spin the bad press that comes from obliterating Alderaan, amongst their other evil-doings?  @DeathStarPR switches between boasting the Empire’s status as the ruling class, reveling in other great evildoers, and getting all emo-Hayden Christensen over getting blown up..TWICE.

5. @WWECreative_ish

We’ve got a handful of wrasslin’ fans and PCW listeners in The PoP!ulation, and this one’s for you.  @WWECreative_ish parodies the ridiculous goings-ons in the ring and behind the curtain of the sports-entertainment juggernaut.  Rumor has it that @WWECreative_ish, and the recently suspended @WWECreative, were created by a current member of the WWE staff, and the latter was banned from the micro-blogging website after Vince McMahon went on a rampage which saw the deletion of many WWE parody Twitter accounts.

6. @FakeGareb

If you’re like most of The PoP!ulation, you sorely miss both Wizard and Toyfare magazines (although I hear PoP! has a main site…). @FakeGareb resurrected the disgraced “Big Cheese” of Wizard World, Gareb Shamus, and peers into the soul of the former media magnate.  Tweets often reference brother Stephen (@FakeSShamus), P-Zones, and crippling loneliness.

As chronicled by our very own Panels On Pages PoP!-Cast, Editor-In-Chief Lee Rodriguez abandoned his nuisance pet cat Tweek after one too many piss spots on his brand new carpet. Since then, Tweek has been wreaking havoc on The Rodriguez family and live-blogging his exploits on Twitter.  More often than not, you can find @TweekOnPages torturing the Rodriguez family dog, @BusterOnPages*.
