Video: ‘Star Tours: Origins’

 Kudos to Bleeding Cool (!) and Disney theme park blog Inside the Magic for alerting us to this awesome fan-made CGI re-creation by  Gregory Noacco of the OG Star Tours ride from Disney parks!  The Disneyland and Hollywood Studios versions of Star Tours received a Lucas-esque special-edition-izing last year at both parks, dubbed Star Tours: The Adventure Continues, but unlike the Star Wars prequels, some might argue that “Star Tours 2.0“ is better than the original, featuring 3-D technology, High-Definition video, audience interaction, and a Choose Your Own Adventure-style segmented plot allowing for 54 different ride experiences.

That being said, Star Tours: Tour to Endor (still operational at TokyoDisney and EuroDisney) still holds a place dear to many Star Wars and theme -park fans’ hearts, and nostalgiac Tours fans will be overjoyed with this re-creation of the original featuring Rex, the bumbling droid pilot originally voiced by Paul Reubens, aka Pee-Wee Herman!

But wait…there’s more!  You can even watch it in 3-D!
