Trailer: ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’

One day after foregoing a costly Super Bowl commercial for their forthcoming summer blockbuster, The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony Pictures staged a world-wide event on Monday, February 6th, to sling some PR for the Marc Webb-directed reboot of the Spidey-franchise.  Lucky Spider-fans filled thirteen movie theaters across the globe for the simulcast event, with Webb appearing in Los Angeles, star Andrew Garfield in New York, , Rhys Ifans (Dr. Curt Connors) in London, and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) joining producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach in Rio de Janeiro, and audiences were treated to a new 3-D trailer for the film, reportedly showcasing more humor, delving further into the relationship between Peter Parker and his parents, and featuring the first publicly-shown footage of Rhys Ifans as The Lizard since last year’s San Diego Comic Con.

Your Friendly Neighborhood PoP!-Stars have The Amazing Spider-Man‘s brand-spankin’ new trailer, ready and waiting for you to nergasm all over it!

The Amazing Spider-Man, directed by Marc Webb, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Dennis Leary, Martin Sheen, Campbell Scott, and Sally Field swings into theaters, IMAX, and 3-D on July 3rd, 2012.

Wise cracks, mechanical web shooters, A pretty Gwen Stacy. I like this trailer better then the last 3 Spider-Man movies. I don’t even need to see this movie to say I like it better then the other 3, the trailer beats them out already!

    • Jason Knize says:

Agreed with you on everything except the Gwen Stacy comment. Bryce Dallas Howard is nothing to scoff at! :P

      • Ben Gilbert says:

Howard was nice to look at, but Emma Stone is just as attractive and (more importantly) can act circles around her.

        • Joshua says:

They’re both beautiful women, but I have to give it to Howard, she’s breathtaking.

As for acting, it’s a tough call. They’ve both been good in what I’ve seen them in, but I’ve seen Stone in a lot more movies, so she gets the edge. Of course, she tends to play far more likable characters, and I’m sure that factors into my perception somewhat.

    Awesome!

  3. matt (shark) says:

wow. I liked the originals but man this may be awesome

  4. Tito Cruz says:

I like it! I did really enjoy the first 2 and was a bit weary about Garfield in this but he may pull it off.

  5. Arsenal says:

I think it looks awesome, but seriously what is with Spider-man Movies and taking off his mask?
Half the trailer s mask less Spider-Man.

  6. Joshua says:

There seem to be a lot of haters out there, much like X-men First Class prior to its release, but I don’t get it. Every ounce of footage I’ve seen gets me excited and this was a very well done trailer. While I don’t hate the first two Raimi Spider-man movies, this looks to trump them on every level.

  7. Mike the Onion Knight says:

I’m excited. This looks great. And this seems like the perfect place to share something with everyone. A friend of mine told me, and I quote: “The new Spider-Man movie is going to flop. No one is going to see it because all they did was rip off the Raimi story.”

  8. Spazzy says:

    I am SO EXCITED

  9. Dan Mahoney says:

That was fantastic – thanks Knize!

  10. Isaac D. Parker says:

I am in love already! This is the Spider Man movie that the fans are looking for, web shooters, wise cracks, and hunted by the police!

  11. Juan a.k.a. The Denim One says:

Here is the link to the viral marketing site, it can be sprt of seen at the end of the trailer http://markofthespider-man.com/

  12. There is nothing I can add that hasn’t been said. Did we know Leary was Stacy? I don’t think – I – did and I LOVE it!

  13. Grimm says:

I hope you all know that you are no longer allowed to mention that other thing wht happened a few years ago with the Raimi-guy. Anyone does and tey get shot at C2E2

  14. D-Rock says:

Still on the fence about the costume, but the trailer looked pretty good.

  15. John-Michael (Batman25JM) says:

I love all of the Raimi Spider-Man movies (yes, including 3), but this looks fantastic. I think it may easily top them all based on this trailer. I can’t wait for this movie now. And, after really seeing it, I love the costume.

  16. Ben Gilbert says:

I just hope it gets the origin out of the way quickly and moves on. That seems to be the only hurdle this flick needs to overcome. Otherwise, there’s nothing here that doesn’t get me pumped about it.
