Super Bowl XLVI: ‘The Avengers’ Extended Trailer
Every year, the Super Bowl gives those non-sports-fan nerds a chance to get in on part of the action, as movie studios debut trailers for some of their big summer blockbusters during the game, paying in excess of $3 million per 60-second spot. This year, however, not only have some of the bigger studios and big-time movies passed up a chance at premiering footage during The Big Game (nothing from The Dark Knight Rises or The Amazing Spider-Man), but some have blown their wad early, releasing their Super Bowl spot onto the net almost a week in advance!
There was one big draw for comics-to-film fans this year, and it’s the new trailer for Marvel Studios’ The Avengers. Will we catch a glimpse of the ‘secret’ invaders? Will there be hammer-throwing and shield-slinging? How may DAT ASS-shots of Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow can they cram into 60-seconds? You’re about to find out. Well, I dunno. That first shot looks Skrully but the shots in the streets and with Hulk look Kree… Maybe I’m crazy.
So? Atlanteans, Kree, or Frost Giants? Look like Frost Giants to me.
I think the bunch jumping off of the building are Skrulls, because I see pointy Yoda ears, but there very well could be Kree, too.
Ya know, this may be one movie where I don’t give a shit who the bad guys are, I just wanna see these heroes together destroying shit!

That scene of them standing in a circle as the camera pans around them? I want that scene on a continuous loop.
Great scene. What stood out to me was that you had Widow looking weak with a little hand gun lol. Someone get her a bigger gun!
In the shot where they’re jumping down, definitely frost giants. I’m skeptical that it’s frost giants riding all those little speeder bikes flying around.
Good lord that’s amazing. Got chills on multiple occasions. Hulk is kicking major ass. And those look like Frost Giants at first glance but they also appear to be coming out of a spaceship so Kree is a possiblity. I didn’t think they looked Skrully but hey they are shape shifters…Chitauri maybe?
COULD be the Frost Giants ( would make sense since they have already been introduced) but they dont seem that technological advanced to me. I still say Kree but who knows). 11 weeks to this guys!

Somewhere else it was brought up that both Loki’s army and their invasion of Manhattan looks a lot like when Surter’s minions, the Sons of Muspelheim, did the same thing during Walt Simonson’s run on Thor. I think this makes a lot of sense.
