PoP!: Amanda, for those that have not yet been lucky enough to be in the presence of your awesomeness, what makes you a FanGirl?

pink*lantern: Does going to 10 conventions in the last 12 months count??

Amanda and August 2009 FGOTM Kristin 'Foxy' Allen!

PoP!: I’d say that counts.  Here’s hoping that the potatoes are able to make the trip out to C2E2 this year!  It won’t be the same without you.

Mike Champion with Amanda

Take us back to the beginning.  How and when did you become a Fangirl?

pink*lantern: Reading and art have always been my passions. I’ve loved painting, drawring, and crafting since preschool. Oh, and I’ve been collecting Pez Dispensers and lunch boxes longer than I can remember.

PoP!: Do you have a favorite childhood geek-memory?

pink*lantern: I won the Halloween costume contest in gradeschool… once as a witch… and once as a shower. Yes I said Shower (curtain and all).

PoP!: Ralph Macchio ain’t got sh– on you.

What are your current Fangirl obsessions?

pink*lantern: I’m currently reading anything Harley Quinn (she’s so cute!).

C2E2 Hijinx, featuring Mike Champion, potatojoe, pink*lantern and AIRWOLF!

PoP!: Alright, out with it.  What is the most Fangirl-ish thing you’ve ever done?

Amanda and Art Baltazar

pink*lantern: I had Katie Cook draw a series of sketches involving my cat, Cheez-its, straws, and tiny shoe boxes.  Oh, and Art Baltazar and I went on a date once (in my sketch book!)

Check out Amanda and the whole potato family at Mid-Ohio Con 2010!

PoP!: What has been your biggest Geek-Out Moment?

pink*lantern: I met Jerry Only and the rest of the Osaka Pop-Stars at Virgin Records in Times Square. Did I mention I ran into Marky Ramone in the Porno section??!

PoP!: I think you just did.

How has being a Fangirl affected other aspects of your life?

pink*lantern: My apartment is covered in Hello Kitty and Spider-Man everything, various action figures and collectibles, convention sketches, and horror memoribilia. Sometimes I feel like we go to the comic store more than the grocery store. But I love being a FanGirl. I’m comfortable being my nerdy self.

PoP!: Amen, sister!

So, check this out.  You’re stranded on a desert island. You can have one action figure, one trade paperback, one Video Game, one DVD and one CD. What are they?

pink*lantern: Do Pez dispensers count?  Harley Quinn: Preludes and Knock Knock Jokes, Rayman’s Rabbids, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, and The Beatles’ Help!

PoP!: Yourself and one Mr. potatojoe are one of the most adorable nerd couples in The PoP!ulation.  What would be your advice to the Fanboy/girl wanting to win over the Fangirl/boy of their dreams?

'Til Death.

pink*lantern: Always be yourself… I love nerdy boys. Don’t be afraid to hide who you are. I think its super cute when potatojoe geeks out about the latest comic/action figure/convention (which happens a lot!) :)

You spelled POOP! correctly!

PoP!: Thanks for being our February 2011 Fangirl of the Month, Amanda.  Where can folks go to learn more about you on the interwebz?

pink*lantern: I’m always trolling the PoP! boards… if you’re lucky I might just say hi!

PoP!: Go there.  NOW.

Nutritious and Delicious!
