DCUC Wave 10 Joker

dcuc_wave10_jokerThe Walmart exclusive DC Universe Classics Wave 10 has been popping up around the nation. While my goal in hunting these figures has always been the acquisition of the Man-Bat (no luck yet), I couldn’t help but purchase the Joker once I saw him. But what makes him so great?

The figure’s articulation is commensurate with the standards established throughout the DCUC line, unlike the prior re-release of the Joker figure from the now defunct Batman Classics line. The figure’s sculpt fantastically captures the character’s essence, unlike the DC Direct Hush Joker with his horrible jowls. And his accessories? Aside from the Imperiex pack in piece, the clown prince of crime comes with some playing cards (joker included), a Joker fish, and his trademark jester-headed cane. Did I forget anything?

Oh, right, his mallet – the handle of which is actually a Pinocchio-like nose on the Joker face that wraps around the side of the hammer’s head.

This is the most fun representation of the Joker we’ve gotten in a long time, and I was happy to add him to me collection of rogues. Now, back to the hunt for Man-Bat!

No mention of its obvious similarities to the Super Powers version?

Well, if you’re doing a “standard” Joker figure, I think it HAS to have similarities to the Super Powers version. I mean, to me, that’s the iconic look, and what every figure SHOULD be shooting for.

As for the accessories, yes. It’s quite amazing. Almost frustrating, though. While I LOVE accessories and hate toys that come with none, what you’ve given me is four accessories for a figure that can at best display two. Sure, it’s great for people who have different display tastes, especially if you want to keep him in package. For me, however, I just feel guilty about the Joker fish going unused.

And wow…it comes with 4 accessories AND a CnC piece? That’s pretty rad. Accessories had all but taken a powder.

One day, when I’m making millions of dollars, I’ll go back and get this entire line.

    One day…
